How to measure interior doors?

Whenever we want to or have to replace the frame and interior doors, we should take appropriate measurements before purchasing the replacements to avoid problems with wrong-sized products and installation.

Frame

After removing the old frame, you have to measure the thickness of the wall underneath because this is the wall you are going to use to install the new frame. If the thickness of the wall is within the range of 90 to 95 mm, it will be suitable for any fixed (butted) frame.

If, however, the thickness of the wall is greater than indicated above, the best solution will be to use an adjustable frame. The adjustable frame can successfully embrace a wall with non-standard dimensions. The only limit is the minimum thickness, i.e., 75 mm. There is no upper limit.

If your home has metal frames, the best solution will be to leave them intact and install a metal frame cover. This will allow you to avoid the costly and time-consuming removal of the metal frame, and the final result will be both practical and elegant. The metal frame cover is easy to install and enables the use of standard veneer door leaves of INVADO.

To enable easy installation of the frame, the opening in the wall should be wider on each side than the outside width of the frame.

Door leaves

Once you have solved the issue of the frame, you can proceed to select the right door leaf.
The typical dimensions of interior doors are as follows: standard height of 204 cm and six available widths: 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and 110 cm.
